Thank you for your interest in the DCI Community Housing Services Social Housing Project Cape Town
To apply for this social housing project kindly note the following basic qualifying criteria;
- Applicant/s joint household income is required to be between R1800 – R22000 (Gross monthly income)
- Applicant/s must be between the ages of 21 – 65 years to apply
- Applicant/s must not have or currently owned a home
- Applicant/s are required to have a favourable credit record
- Applicant/s may be single and can apply with or without dependents
- Applicant/s must be a South African citizens
- You must be registered on the City of Cape Town’s Housing Data Base Register (Previously known as the Housing Database)

Guidelines on the units available in relation to the joint monthly household income bracket:
- Earn between R1800 – R3500 to qualify for a bachelor unit: Monthly rental cost R776
- Earn between R3501- R6700 to qualify for a 1 Bedroom unit: Monthly rental cost R1482
- Earn between R6701 – R11300 to qualify for a 1 Bedroom unit: Monthly rental cost R2985
- Earn between R11301 – R15000 to qualify for a 2 Bedroom unit: Monthly rental cost R4708
- Earn between R15001 – R22000 to qualify for a 2 Bedroom unit: Monthly rental cost R6005
- All children / infants are considered a person residing in the property
- Kindly note a Non-Refundable Application Fee of R200.00 is due, payment details will further be discussed with the property administrator processing your application.

Our operating hours are Monday- Thursday from 08:30 – 17:00 and Friday 08:30- 16:00.
If you’re employed then we’ll need the following;
- Certified ID Copies of applicant and spouse (if applicable)
- Certified copies of dependant birth certificates or ID’s
- If you married, divorced or a widow then we’ll need certified copies of those documents
- 3months latest bank statements
- 3months Payslips not older than three months
- For a weekly wage we require X16 payslips of the last 3 months
- For a fourth-night wage we need X8 payslips for the last 3 months
- City of Cape Town’s Housing Needs registration number
- Legal guardianship documents of any persons, including grand and great grandchildren
If you’re self-employed we’ll need the following;
- Certified ID Copies of applicant and spouse (if applicable)
- Certified copies of dependant birth certificates or ID’s
- If you married, divorce or a widow then we’ll need certified copies of those documents
- Three months latest bank statements
- Latest Annual audited Financial statements
- Legal guardianship of any persons, including grand and great grandchildren
- Business registration documents.
- City of Cape Town’s Housing Needs registration number
If you’re earning a pension or disability grant then we’ll need the following;
- Certified ID Copies of applicant and spouse (if applicable)
- Certified copies of dependant birth certificates or ID’s
- If you married, divorced or a widow then we’ll need certified copies of those documents
- Three months latest bank statements
- If you have a Post Bank Account (SASSA CARD) then you need to go to your nearest post office and request a three-month bank statement. Please note that you will need to provide the Teller at the Post office with an email address where they can email the statement to your email address for you to print out, as the Post Office printers are out of service.
- We need a letter from SASSA confirming that you are receiving a grant
- Legal guardianship documents of any persons, including grand grandchildren.
